Last year (2015) the University of Cincinnaty Magazine (US) and The New York Times announced that international team of archaeologists led by Jack L. Davis and Sharon R. Stocker digging at ancient city Pylos, on Peloponnese, have discovered the rich grave of a male warrior or priest from period of Bronze age. The person probably died at about 30 to 35 years of age. In same tomb archaeologists have unearthed bronze sword and a collection of gold rings, jewels and  carved seals.

Warrior/priest was buried around XVI century BC or before 3.500 years. Scientists suggests that this tomb may have held a some king or even a trader or a raider. It is known that Pylos having been inhabited since period of New Stone Age.

Many years later after his death, on this site arose so called Palace of Nestor. As a part of Mycenaean civilization over time the Palace of Nestor become a large administrative center. These days,  archaeologists completing the excavations. Archeologists say that golden rings from grave represents power of this person. It is uncleared if the warrior and those who buried him were Minoans or Mycenaean’s steeped in Minoan culture.
